Today we watched the opening sequence of "The hills have eyes". In this sequence we see the establishment of the characters and how location and shot types are used to create tension and unease in the viewer. A number of effective techniques were employed to create this feeling such as, slow zooms to establish characterisation, camera angles shot from behind the characters to make it seem as if the character is being followed, and tense/ negative music and soundeffects most of the way through, this again creates tension in the viewer and gives aqn impression as to what may happen to the characters.
We like the use of slow zooms and music to create tension and are considering how these aspects may be used in our own piece. Emily and Rosie
